Here are the regulations regarding reciprocals from other yacht clubs.

Reciprocal moorage is available on the south side of "K" dock. No reciprocal moorage available on the Newcastle Channel docks (east side).
Each visiting boat must have insurance documents showing $2 million liability.
Skippers must show a valid membership card from their home club.

About Nanaimo Yacht Club

Established in 1931 to encourage the sport of yachting, to foster seamanship and navigation, and to provide and maintain a suitable clubhouse and moorage facilities for the use and recreation of its members.

A historic maritime city located in central Vancouver Island, Nanaimo is closely associated with the sea. The Nanaimo Yacht Club is an integral part of this community, with approximately 750 members who enjoy benefits such as a modern clubhouse and first rate moorage. By volunteering for administrative and maintenance positions, the members have achieved a 1st class facility and very attractive rates.

The Nanaimo Yacht Club is clearly indicated on the Nanaimo Harbour chart at the south end of Newcastle Channel and just north west of the main anchorage.

Applications for membership are being accepted from anyone who has attained the age of 19, who resides in the area defined as School District 68 or School District 69; who followed the prescribed procedure, paid the prescribed fees and has been accepted for membership by the Executive Committee.

Membership Boundaries, Fees and Payment Changes

NYC By-Laws changed to include extended Membership Boundaries.

At the June 2017 General Meeting the boundaries where a person must reside within to be a member of NYC was changed and now is defined as Vancouver Island, and the Gulf Islands in British Columbia.

Besides the Boundary change the cost to becoming a regular member was also changed and now is based on the age of the person applying for membership.

Ages are inclusive:

19 to 25 years $1,000.00
26 to 40 years $1,500.00
41 plus years $2,000.00

There's more..... the Regular Membership Fee's can be spread over 2 years.
